How Can WT Consultancy Help?

WT Consultancy will conduct suitable and sufficient face fit test on your employees within our office in Cullompton, Devon or on your site. From there we will advise on the suitability of the face mask and issue a certificate based on the results of the testing.

What Types of Face Fit Testing Do We Offer?

Qualitative for filtering face-pieces (FFPs, disposable masks) and half masks
Qualitative Face Fit Testing can be used to determine the seal quality of disposable half-masks, and it can also be used for re-usable half mask respirator fit tests. It relies on the person’s sense of taste to determine the mask’s effectiveness.

The Requirement:

Dust masks are a regular feature within various industries namely construction and manufacturing.
For RPE to be suitable it must be matched to the job, the environment, the anticipated airborne contaminant exposure level, and the wearer. As people come in all sorts of shapes and sizes it is unlikely that one particular type, or size of RPE face piece, will fit everyone. Fit testing will help ensure that the equipment selected is suitable for the wearer.

The Legal Side:

The Approved Codes of Practice (ACoPs) supporting the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (COSHH) , the Control of Lead at Work Regulations 2002 (CLAW), the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 (CAR) and the Ionising Radiation Regulations 1999 require that all reasonable steps be taken to prevent exposure to substances hazardous to health, or where prevention is not possible, to reduce exposure to the lowest level reasonably practicable.
